Legal Assistant – San Diego, CA
A well-established litigation law firm in San Diego is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join its team. This is a full-time, on-site role ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in civil and business litigation. The firm values collaboration, organization, and high-quality work product in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, edit, proofread, and finalize legal documents, correspondence, and filings.
- Handle state and federal court filings, including e-filing, and maintain familiarity with the full litigation lifecycle.
- Manage calendaring and deadlines with precision.
- Assist with daily overflow work, administrative tasks, and special projects.
- Support attorneys with business litigation matters; transactional support is a plus.
- Maintain organized files and assist with document management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of legal assistant experience, preferably in civil or business litigation.
- Strong knowledge of California state and federal court rules and filing procedures.
- Excellent proofreading, writing, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word (2010 or later), Outlook, and document management systems such as iManage or similar.
- Experience with CompuLaw, Best Authority, Adobe Pro, Comparite, and CCC Macros is a plus.
- Strong typing, formatting, redlining, and editing skills.
- Highly organized, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
