Job Description

Job Title: Residential Construction Operations & Financial Analyst | Confidential Opportunity

Reports To: Head of Operations & Sales

Location: In Office Nashville, TN

Employment Type: Full-Time Role

Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Operations & Financial Analyst to serve as the strategic right hand to our Head of Operations and Sales. This isn't just a desk job; you will be the bridge between our project bids and our actual financial performance. The ideal candidate brings a "financial industry" mindset to the construction world—someone who thrives on data integrity, rigorous cost tracking, and identifying the "why" behind budget variances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Financial Control: Lead the "Bids vs. Actuals" reconciliation process. You will track every dollar spent against original estimates to identify slippage or efficiencies.
  • Square Foot Analysis: Calculate and monitor square foot offsets and expense ratios to ensure project profitability aligns with industry benchmarks.
  • Executive Support: Work directly under the Head of Operations to streamline sales-to-production handoffs and optimize operational workflows.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Finance or equivalent
  • QuickBooks Management: Oversee all project-related accounting in QuickBooks, ensuring accurate job costing, class tracking, and vendor management.
  • Spreadsheet Mastery: Build and maintain advanced Excel/Google Sheets models to forecast cash flow, track change orders, and visualize project health for leadership.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years in a financial analyst or high-level administrative role, specifically within the Construction or Real Estate sectors.
  • Financial Background: Prior experience in the financial services or banking industry is highly preferred.
  • Tech Stack: Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks and Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPS, complex formulas).
  • The "Construction Lens": A solid understanding of construction cycles, labor costs, and material fluctuations.
  • Analytical Rigor: Ability to look at a spreadsheet and immediately spot a square-foot cost anomaly.

We are a leading Custom Residential Home Build Firm with a family first approach that allows our Project Managers the freedom to make decisions and get the job done. This role will help analyze the gaps between pre-project and project completion to find areas of improvement.
