Production Planner
We are a growing manufacturer with over 70 years of experience serving OEM customers across North America. Known for our reliability, responsiveness, and strong customer relationships, we’re looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Production Planner to help ensure smooth operations as we continue to scale.
Position Summary The Production Planner is responsible for planning and procuring materials to support timely production and delivery. This individual works cross-functionally with suppliers, operations, engineering, and sales to optimize inventory, manage costs, and ensure supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and release production work orders based on sales forecasts and inventory levels
Issue purchase orders for raw materials, components, and MRO items
Coordinate with vendors to ensure on-time, in-full delivery and manage RMAs for defective materials
Monitor and maintain accurate inventory through oversight of receiving and cycle count processes
Track key inventory metrics (DSI, DOH, IQR, S&E) to optimize cash flow and working capital
Maintain accurate records and generate reports to support operations
Assist in implementing procurement and planning policies and drive performance improvements
Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives across departments
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in production planning, purchasing, or supply chain (manufacturing preferred)
Strong analytical and organizational skills
ERP system experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Effective communicator with strong vendor management abilities
Highly detail-oriented; able to prioritize and meet tight deadlines
Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement a plus
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $70,000–$95,000, depending on experience
Annual bonus opportunity based on company performance
