We have partnered with a well-established firm that has a hybrid opening for and Legal Secretary. The candidate will be assisting an attorney and handling a variety of medical malpractice representation matters based out of the San Diego office. This firm has been in business for over 30+ years and has a strong client base. If you are someone that has a strong legal assistant background and are interested in the medical field, this may be a great opportunity. Success in this position includes experience with basic state filings, docketing, calendaring, formatting, assisting attorneys with motions and discovery, reviewing documents before they go out the door. You will also have an opportunity to work on personal injury, insurance defense and premises liability cases but a majority of the caseload is medical malpractice.
Required experience
- 3+ years related legal assistant experience- preferably on the defense side of litigation
- Strong calendaring, state filing, docketing, formatting skills
- Ability to assist attorneys in preparation for trials (TOC and TOA's)
- Team player
- Interest in medical field helps with enjoyment of this position
- Able to commute on a hybrid basis to the San Diego office
- LA office available if interested
