Project Manager – Federal Construction Projects

📍 Location: Greater Washington DC / Northern Virginia 🕒 Full-Time | On-site (with some flexibility)

About the Company: Our client is a well-established general contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality federal, commercial, and institutional construction projects. Position Overview: We are seeking a Project Manager with federal project experience to join our client’s growing team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background managing federal construction projects, ensuring compliance with government standards, and overseeing projects from pre-construction through closeout.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of federal construction projects (ground-up and renovations)

  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations, including FAR, USACE, NAVFAC, and other agency-specific guidelines

  • Coordinate with owners, subcontractors, and internal teams to meet project schedules and budgets

  • Lead project meetings, manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders

  • Oversee project documentation, reporting, and quality control

  • Monitor project progress and proactively address issues to ensure timely completion

  • Maintain strong client relationships and represent the company in a professional manner

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of project management experience in federal construction

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering federal projects on time and within budget

  • Strong knowledge of federal construction regulations and procedures (FAR, USACE, NAVFAC, etc.)

  • Experience with submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project closeout

  • Proficiency in Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred

  • OSHA 30 and current security clearance are a plus
