Job Posting: Insurance Defense Attorney

One of our top clients is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Defense Attorney to join our litigation team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated attorney with a strong background in insurance defense to handle a diverse and challenging caseload. The firm specailizes in Martime and Transportation defense.
Responsibilities:
- Independently manage and litigate a full range of insurance defense cases, including but not limited to transportation accidents, admilarty and maritime, and general liability matters.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis.
- Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and responses.
- Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
- Evaluate settlement opportunities and participate in negotiations and mediations.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, arbitrations, and trials.
- Provide timely and effective communication with clients and insurance carriers.
- Maintain meticulous and organized case files.
- Adhere to the highest ethical standards and professional responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience practicing law, with a primary focus on insurance defense litigation, tort or toxic tort.
- Demonstrated success in all phases of litigation, from inception through resolution or trial.
- Strong understanding of Illinois civil procedure and insurance law principles.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Exceptional oral advocacy and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a significant caseload effectively.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in legal research databases and standard office software.
