Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Powersports Service Writer to join their growing team. This role is the heartbeat of the service department, responsible for providing a seamless and positive experience for customers needing maintenance or repairs on their motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet customers in person or by phone, listen to their concerns, and accurately document service requests.
Create detailed repair orders, ensuring clarity and accuracy in customer concerns and technician instructions.
Communicate effectively with technicians to ensure timely and accurate diagnosis and repairs.
Provide estimates and explain service work to customers, including costs and timeframes.
Maintain regular communication with customers throughout the service process, offering updates and addressing questions.
Coordinate warranty claims and ensure compliance with manufacturer policies.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable service.
Assist in scheduling appointments, managing workflow, and organizing the service department.
Qualifications:
Prior experience as a service writer or advisor in the powersports, automotive, or equipment industry.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Working knowledge of powersports vehicles and mechanical terminology.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in computer systems and service software (e.g., Lightspeed, CDK, etc.).
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
