Job Description

Are you a hands-on leader who knows your way around a lumber yard and loves seeing a plan come together? We’re looking for a Lumber Yard Manager to oversee day-to-day operations within a hardwood manufacturing environment — from sawmill output to shipping. If you’re experienced in production flow, team leadership, and quality control, this could be your next big step!

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee the full flow of hardwood lumber — stacking, kiln drying, grading, packaging, and shipping

  • Lead and support a crew of around 20 team members (forklift, kiln/boiler operators, graders, and material handlers)

  • Track daily production metrics for safety, quality, and efficiency

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and well-run yard that sets the standard for quality

  • Adjust staffing and production plans based on sawmill output and shipping demand

  • Foster a team culture built on accountability, communication, and continuous improvement

What You’ll Bring:

  • 3+ years of experience managing teams of 10+ in an industrial or manufacturing setting

  • Background in lumber, sawmill, or hardwood manufacturing preferred

  • Familiarity with kiln drying, grading, and lumber handling processes

  • Strong decision-making and adaptability in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; SAP or similar system experience a plus

  • Hardwood lumber grading certification is a big plus

Why You’ll Love It Here:

  • Opportunity to make a real impact in a respected hardwood manufacturing operation

  • Collaborative, team-first environment that values your experience

  • Competitive pay and relocation assistance available for the right fit
