As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for the investigation, analysis, and design of critical subsurface and support systems for both public and private projects. This includes retaining walls, shoring, foundations, and excavation systems. You’ll work closely with project managers, design teams, and clients to ensure technical excellence and on-time project delivery.
Design and analyze support systems for excavation in dense urban environments, including shoring, bracing, underpinning, and retaining wall structures.
Conduct geotechnical site investigations and subsurface assessments using borehole data, soil sampling, and lab testing results.
Prepare technical reports, engineering calculations, and geotechnical design recommendations.
Evaluate slope stability, groundwater conditions, and slide history to ensure structural integrity and safety.
Provide design input for foundation systems, including deep foundations, pile systems, and soil improvement techniques.
Support multiple geotechnical projects simultaneously, ensuring quality standards, timelines, and budgets are maintained.
Collaborate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and local agencies to ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulations.
Assist in preparing proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance as needed.
Offer occasional on-site consultation to assess construction compliance and design execution.
3 to 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience with a strong focus on excavation support systems and underground construction.
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
PE or EIT certification preferred, or the ability to obtain it.
Strong understanding of soil mechanics, slope stability, earth retention, and groundwater behavior.
Experience designing and analyzing retaining walls, shoring, and deep foundations.
Proficient in geotechnical and structural design software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, Slide, Settle3D, and general office tools (Microsoft Office). gINT experience is a plus.
Skilled in preparing and reviewing technical documentation, reports, and specifications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
