Power Electronics Engineer – Full-Time

Location: Tennessee Industry: Electronics / Electrical Engineering / Manufacturing / Renewable Energy Schedule: Full-Time | 1st Shift

🔌 Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Power Electronics Engineer to design, develop, and test power electronic systems for industrial, energy, or advanced manufacturing applications. This role involves hands-on design, analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, efficient, and reliable power electronics solutions.

The ideal candidate has experience with AC/DC converters, inverters, motor drives, and power systems, combined with a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles.

🧰 Key Responsibilities

  • Design, simulate, and implement power electronics circuits (AC/DC converters, inverters, motor drives, etc.)
  • Conduct performance analysis, testing, and validation of power electronic systems
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize prototypes and production systems
  • Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, and systems engineering teams for integrated solutions
  • Develop technical documentation, schematics, and testing protocols
  • Evaluate components and systems for reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in product design and manufacturing processes
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance as needed

📘 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in power electronics design, testing, and development
  • Proficiency with simulation and design software (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, LTSpice)
  • Experience with power semiconductors, passive components, and thermal management
  • Familiarity with PCB layout, EMI/EMC design, and circuit protection strategies
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills (Not Required)

  • Experience with motor drives, renewable energy systems, or electric vehicles
  • Knowledge of high-voltage systems and safety standards
  • Experience with embedded systems and firmware integration
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Electronics
