Position Overview

The Field Engineer plays a vital role in supporting on-site project execution by ensuring accuracy in layout, documentation, and coordination. This position bridges the gap between field operations and project management, serving as a critical link in maintaining communication, safety, and quality control across all phases of the project.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual seeking to build a long-term career path toward Superintendent or Project Management roles within a proven, reputable commercial builder.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform layout and surveying duties to ensure precise construction alignment

  • Review drawings and specifications to support field implementation and identify discrepancies

  • Track and manage field documentation, RFIs, and daily reports

  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure schedule compliance and material readiness

  • Assist with QA/QC verification and field inspections

  • Support coordination of subcontractors and field crews to maintain workflow and sequencing

  • Maintain accurate as-built documentation and participate in project closeout processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred

  • 1–3 years of relevant construction or field experience (internships or co-ops acceptable)

  • Strong understanding of construction documents, layout, and scheduling processes

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Procore (preferred)

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills

  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient jobsite
