Traveling Safety Manager – Construction

A growing and respected construction contractor in western Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Traveling Safety Manager to oversee and enforce safety programs across multiple project sites. This role is ideal for a proactive safety professional who is passionate about protecting workers, maintaining compliance, and fostering a strong culture of safety in the field.

As a Traveling Safety Manager, you will support project teams by implementing safety programs, conducting site audits, leading safety training, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety standards. This position requires regular travel to project sites and close collaboration with field leadership to maintain safe and productive job sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to project sites to monitor and enforce safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct jobsite safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
  • Lead daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses and implement corrective actions
  • Assist project managers and superintendents with site safety planning
  • Maintain safety documentation, reports, and compliance records
  • Support continuous improvement of company safety programs and culture

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of construction safety experience
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and safety best practices
  • Experience conducting jobsite inspections and safety training
  • Ability to work with field teams and communicate safety expectations clearly
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed

Preferred

  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • CHST, CSP, or other safety certifications
  • Experience working on commercial, industrial, or steel construction projects
  • Background supporting multiple job sites or traveling roles

Compensation & Benefits

$65,000 – $85,000 DOE
