Job Title: Legal Assistant (Litigation)

Location: El Segundo, CA

Employment Type: Full-Time

 

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Legal Assistant with at least 1 year of litigation experience to join our team in El Segundo. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and is comfortable supporting attorneys in all phases of litigation. Experience in plaintiff-side employment law is a plus, but not required. This role will be at a plaintiff employment law firm.

 

Requirements:

  • Speak, read, and write in English and Spanish
  • Knowledge and experience with civil litigation rules and processes in California Superior courts
  • Independently draft routine civil litigation complaints, discovery (propounding and responding), motions, briefs
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Ability to efficiently analyze and prioritize routine legal tasks and projects
  • Excellent communication and writing skills College degree not required, but preferred
  • Graduate of ABA-approved paralegal program not required

Responsibilities:

  • Translate at client meetings to prepare for depositions, mediations, and trials
  • File and serve legal documents with state and federal courts
  • Independently draft complaints, discovery, motions, and mediation briefs
  • Independently prepare routine legal documents
  • Organize and maintain electronic case files and documents
