A growing precision manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector / CMM Programmer to support its quality and production teams. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable programming CMM equipment, interpreting complex prints, and performing dimensional inspections on precision manufactured components.

The ideal candidate combines strong PC-DMIS programming skills with practical inspection experience and can work closely with manufacturing to identify and resolve quality issues.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, day shift Position: On-site

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, modify, and troubleshoot CMM inspection programs using PC-DMIS
  • Set up and operate CMM equipment for first-piece, in-process, and final inspections
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, specifications, and quality requirements
  • Perform dimensional inspections using CMM equipment and manual measuring tools
  • Use micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges, and other precision inspection equipment
  • Verify inspection equipment is properly maintained and calibrated
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records
  • Identify dimensional or quality concerns and communicate findings to manufacturing and engineering
  • Assist production teams with inspection questions and quality-related troubleshooting
  • Support continuous improvement and other Quality Department activities as needed

Qualifications

  • Experience performing dimensional inspection in a precision manufacturing or machining environment
  • Hands-on experience creating or modifying PC-DMIS CMM programs
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
  • Proficiency with standard precision measuring and inspection equipment
  • Ability to understand tolerances and evaluate parts against engineering requirements
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with production, engineering, and quality personnel
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or metrology training is a plus

Preferred Experience

  • 2+ years of CMM programming and dimensional inspection experience
  • Experience with Hexagon CMM equipment
  • Formal PC-DMIS, GD&T, metrology, or quality training
  • Experience inspecting machined components in a job shop or precision manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements

Ability to safely handle parts weighing up to approximately 30 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment requiring a combination of standing, walking, and seated inspection/programming work.
