Fire Sprinkler Division Manager
Position Overview
The Fire Sprinkler Division Manager is responsible for leading and growing the sprinkler division by overseeing operations, project execution, financial performance, and team development. This role ensures all sprinkler projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards while driving profitability and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily operations of the fire sprinkler division, including design, fabrication, installation, inspections, and service.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local AHJs, OSHA regulations, and company safety policies.
- Develop and implement operational processes to improve efficiency, quality, and consistency.
Project & Financial Management
- Manage division P&L, budgets, forecasting, and cost controls.
- Review estimates, contracts, and change orders to ensure accuracy and profitability.
- Monitor project schedules, labor utilization, and material procurement.
- Resolve project challenges and escalated field issues.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop project managers, designers, foremen, technicians, and support staff.
- Participate in hiring, training, performance evaluations, and succession planning.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Business Development & Client Relations
- Support sales efforts, client meetings, and preconstruction activities.
- Maintain strong relationships with general contractors, owners, inspectors, and vendors.
- Identify growth opportunities, market trends, and strategic initiatives for the division.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure high-quality installation and documentation standards.
- Oversee inspections, testing, and closeout documentation.
- Address warranty issues and customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in fire sprinkler systems, with leadership or management experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA codes, fire protection systems, and construction practices.
- Proven experience managing projects, teams, and financial performance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with estimating software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office.
- NICET certification a plus, but not required
