Field Technician – Electrical Controls & Panel Systems
Location: Houston, TX (77070)
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Travel: ~5% (Occasional overnight stay)
We are seeking a skilled Field Technician with experience in electric controls and panel boxes for PLCs and standard control systems. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills for electronic and mechanical control issues and the ability to repair control valves, gearboxes, and turbos across various types of equipment. Knowledge of latching circuits is also required.
This role involves 80% fieldwork, traveling to job sites to install, troubleshoot, and maintain control systems, while the remaining 20% will be spent in the shop performing quality control on panels.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-based and standard control systems.
• Diagnose and repair electronic and mechanical control issues.
• Service and repair control valves, gearboxes, and turbos.
• Interpret schematics and draw latching circuits when needed.
• Conduct quality control (QC) on panels in the Houston shop.
• Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Qualifications:
• Experience working with electric controls, panel boxes, and PLC systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for electronic and mechanical controls.
• Ability to repair control valves, gearboxes, and turbos.
• Familiarity with reading and drawing latching circuits.
• Ability to work independently in the field and collaborate with shop personnel.
