Tax Supervisor

Location: Stamford, CT

Overview

A large accounting, tax and advisory firm is seeking an experienced Tax Supervisor in Stamford, Connecticut to manage tax engagements for middle-market commercial businesses across a variety of industries. You will work closely with managers and partners, oversee compliance engagements, support tax planning and help develop staff. In-office a minimum of 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage tax engagements for individuals, S corporations, partnerships and LLCs
• Review federal, state and local tax returns for accuracy, completeness and timely filing
• Assist with tax planning, consulting and research projects
• Identify tax issues and develop practical recommendations
• Serve as a primary day-to-day client contact
• Supervise, mentor and train associates and senior associates
• Coordinate with audit and advisory teams
• Manage multiple engagements and competing priorities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; MST a plus
• Active CPA, EA or progress toward certification preferred
• 5+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience with middle-market business clients; real estate experience a plus
• Strong technical expertise in individual, corporate, partnership and multistate taxation; high-net-worth experience a plus
• Proficiency with MS Office and tax software such as CCH or similar
• Proven leadership and strong communication skills
• Ability to work in the office at least 3 days per week
