Tax Senior Manager - ASC 740

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Overview

A large national accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Tax Senior Manager specializing in ASC 740 for its core tax practice in Philadelphia. You will advise clients on the tax implications of their business objectives, evaluate alternatives to reduce tax burden and compliance cost, and lead income tax provision work for privately held and publicly traded clients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct top-level review of tax returns and resolve tax issues with clients, involving specialists where appropriate
• Review tax provisions and workpapers, applying in-depth knowledge of ASC 740
• Explain components of the income tax provision and uncertain tax positions to clients
• Coordinate tax accrual reviews with the audit team, including budget, scope and delivery dates
• Plan engagements, including budgeting, staffing, billing and collections
• Frame research issues and train managers and staff on ASC 740 and research skills
• Recommend and implement tax planning strategies and present them to clients and prospects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation required; Master's preferred
• 8+ years of prior experience, including managing the preparation and audit of ASC 740 computations for privately held and/or publicly traded clients
• Prior supervisory experience required; multinational client experience preferred
• CPA, attorney (admitted in a U.S. jurisdiction) or IRS Enrolled Agent required
• Strong research, analytical, communication and leadership skills
