Tax Manager / Senior Manager - Estate, Gift & Trust

Location: Encino, CA

Overview

A respected CPA firm serving private and public companies, high-net-worth individuals and family offices is seeking a Tax Manager or Senior Manager for its Estate, Gift and Trust tax group in Encino. You will manage multiple client relationships and advise on individual income, trust, estate and gift tax consulting and compliance, often working with clients and their attorneys to structure estate plans, gifting strategies, trusts and income and transfer tax strategies. A hybrid work model is available for eligible employees.

Responsibilities

• Provide tax compliance and advisory services to high-net-worth individuals, including their closely related businesses, trusts and exempt organizations
• Work closely with clients and their other advisors on income tax issues and related planning
• Identify and propose resolutions to complex income tax issues
• Handle individual income, gift, estate and trust tax matters; estate planning experience a plus
• Research complex tax issues and ensure the quality of work product
• Oversee planning and scheduling of engagements and monitor workflow
• Coach and mentor team members and provide formal and informal feedback
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and prospective clients

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related major; Master's, J.D. or LL.M. a plus
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Licensed CPA
• Proficiency in GoSystem, ProSystem/Axcess or equivalent tax software
• Proven experience leading and supervising seniors and staff accountants
• Advanced project management, strong technical aptitude and communication skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritize and take initiative, with high attention to detail
