Tax Manager - Private Client Services

Location: Iselin, NJ

Overview

A large national accounting, tax and advisory firm is seeking a Tax Manager for its private client services practice in New Jersey (preferred location Iselin; also listed for Mount Laurel). The practice serves family-owned and closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals. You will oversee multiple client engagements, review complex returns, manage staff and build client relationships, with flexibility to support work/life balance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations and other entities
• Build relationships with clients and maintain relationships with firm leadership
• Train, supervise and develop associates and seniors
• Take responsibility for accurate time and billing for self and team
• Meet client deadlines and develop working knowledge of client businesses
• Solicit new client relationships and participate in client seminars
• Stay current on tax law, regulation and accounting standard changes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent
• 5+ years of tax compliance experience with U.S. returns for individuals, partnerships and S corporations
• Recent public accounting experience
• CPA or IRS Enrolled Agent required
• Master's in Taxation and GoSystem or CCH Axcess experience preferred
