Tax Manager

Location: Orem, UT

Overview

A regional CPA firm is seeking an experienced Tax Manager with deep technical expertise in one or more specialized areas of taxation for its Orem or Salt Lake City, Utah location. The team focuses on complex tax matters, and the firm values candidates who bring a combination of public accounting and industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations and trusts
• Develop tax strategies that align with client objectives and reduce tax liabilities
• Advise on state and local, estate planning, sophisticated individual income tax, entity structuring, M&A and international tax matters
• Research and analyze tax issues and follow evolving tax law
• Serve as a trusted advisor and maintain strong client relationships
• Mentor and coach junior staff
• Uphold quality control procedures and identify compliance risks
• Drive business development through networking, referral sources and proposals

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA license
• 8+ years of tax compliance and consulting experience in public accounting; industry experience highly valued
• Deep expertise in one or more specialty areas such as international tax, ASC 740 provisions, M&A, complex partnership taxation, SALT or trust and estate taxation
• Proficiency in CCH Axcess (preferred), ProSystem fx or UltraTax, Excel and AI tools
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
