Superintendent | Commercial Construction

An Illinois general contractor is hiring a Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead projects throughout the state. The Opportunity

You’ll oversee daily jobsite operations from mobilization through punch list and closeout. Working closely with project management, you’ll coordinate subcontractors, maintain schedules, and address challenges before they become costly delays.

What You’ll Take Ownership Of

- Lead daily field operations on commercial construction projects throughout Illinois.

- Develop and maintain look-ahead schedules, coordinating manpower, materials, and subcontractors.

- Set clear expectations for safety, quality, productivity, and jobsite accountability.

- Partner with the project manager to resolve constructability issues, scope questions, and schedule conflicts.

- Coordinate inspections, deliveries, site logistics, and trade sequencing.

- Maintain accurate daily reports and communicate progress and potential issues.

- Drive punch list completion, inspections, and a smooth turnover to the owner.

What You Bring

- Experience as a superintendent overseeing commercial construction for a general contractor.

- Strong knowledge of construction methods, trade sequencing, drawings, and specifications.

- A track record of managing subcontractors and maintaining productive jobsites.

- The ability to anticipate problems, make sound decisions, and communicate directly.

- A hands-on leadership style with a clear commitment to safety and quality.

- Availability to work at project sites within Illinois.
