Mechanical Piping and Plumbing Estimator

Salary: Up to $130,000 per year, plus performance bonus
Job Summary
An established, family-owned St. Louis mechanical contractor is adding an experienced Piping and Plumbing Estimator to its preconstruction team. This role estimates industrial and process piping and commercial plumbing, including work on a major aerospace project, and pays a base salary up to $130,000 plus performance bonus.

Key Responsibilities
- Review plans, specifications and addenda to define project scope
- Perform quantity takeoffs for piping and plumbing systems
- Prepare detailed estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors and indirect costs
- Request, review and compare vendor and subcontractor quotes
- Prepare and submit bids and proposals by deadline
- Revise estimates and recommend value engineering options
- Maintain historical cost data and support cost tracking
- Coordinate with project managers and operations at project turnover
Requirements
- 5 to 10+ years of piping and/or plumbing estimating experience on large projects
- Mechanical contractor or construction background
- Strong takeoff, analytical and negotiation skills
- Experience with estimating software such as Trimble Accubid, FastPipe, QuoteSoft or similar, plus Microsoft Excel
- Bachelor's or associate's degree in construction management, engineering or a related field preferred
