Job Description

Location: Austin, TX (hybrid)
Salary display: Competitive (hidden $0-0)

A national law firm with offices across the country is adding a Labor and Employment partner to its Austin, TX office. You'll defend employers against claims brought by current and former employees, much of it insured work under employment practices liability (EPLI) policies, and you'll run your own files from start to finish. This seat is on an equity partner track, and a book of business isn't required. Firms like this tend to value someone who can manage clients and carriers well over someone who arrives with a portable book.

Responsibilities

• Defend employers in single-plaintiff and other employment claims brought by current and former employees
• Run files independently, from intake through resolution
• Manage relationships with employer clients and EPLI insurance carriers
• Counsel employers on workplace issues as they come up

Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
• Partner-level labor and employment experience on the defense side
• Experience handling EPLI carrier work and managing client relationships
• No book of business required

• Competitive base salary, plus discretionary and hours-based bonuses
