Remote Structural Design Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a Remote Structural Design Engineer to support heavy civil construction projects through the design and analysis of construction methods and temporary work structures. This role works closely with internal construction teams, third-party designers, and project stakeholders to develop safe, efficient, and practical engineering solutions.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and experienced in structural analysis and heavy civil engineering design.


Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze temporary works and construction support structures.
  • Collaborate with project managers, field teams, and third-party engineers to develop project solutions.
  • Prepare calculations, drawings, models, and engineering documentation.
  • Review construction methods and provide engineering support throughout project execution.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements.
  • Support staging, shoring, lifting, and structural sequencing plans.
  • Assist with problem-solving and design modifications during active construction.

Qualifications & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) required.
  • Minimum 5 years of heavy civil engineering design experience.
  • Highly proficient in structural analysis software, with RISA Suite preferred.
  • AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience required; TEKLA experience is a plus.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally to project sites.
