Structural Steel Detailer / Checker
Our client, a structural steel fabrication and erection company, is hiring an experienced Structural Steel Detailer / Checker for an on-site role in the greater Houston area. You will produce and review accurate shop and erection drawings for structural and miscellaneous steel projects.
Responsibilities
- Detail and check structural and miscellaneous steel shop and erection drawings
- Review drawings for accuracy, connections and compliance with design documents and AISC standards
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers and the fabrication shop to resolve RFIs and issues
- Mentor and support other detailers as needed
- Meet project schedules and quality standards
Qualifications
- 3+ years of structural steel detailing experience; checking experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Tekla Structures or SDS2
- Strong understanding of steel connections, fabrication and erection
- Able to read architectural and structural drawings
- Strong attention to detail
