Tax Manager

Location: St. Louis Park (Minneapolis area), MN

Overview

A mid-sized public accounting firm is seeking a Tax Manager to work hybrid in St. Louis Park (Minneapolis area). As a member of department leadership, you will supervise staff, oversee client assignments and projects, and provide exceptional service to privately held business clients, with an opportunity for career advancement.

Responsibilities

• Review complex federal and multistate tax returns
• Assign, supervise and review complex tax engagements
• Resolve complex IRS and state tax notices, audits and disputes
• Manage client relationships and assist with escalated client concerns
• Serve as client relationship manager providing advisory services to high-net-worth individual, partnership, corporation and owner-managed business clients
• Perform in-depth research to formulate strategies and prepare and review deliverables
• Mentor staff on compliance, advisory skills and tax planning and conduct performance evaluations
• Build referrals, generate new service opportunities and support business development
• Participate in interviewing and onboarding new staff and complete timely, accurate billing

Qualifications

• CPA license required
• Bachelor's degree in accounting and 6+ years of public accounting experience
• Supervisory and client relationship management experience required
• Demonstrated technical expertise reviewing individual, corporate, partnership and trust returns
• Experience leading and contributing to process improvement
