Civil Litigation Attorney

A growing and well-respected law firm, is seeking a Civil Litigation Defense Attorney licensed in California with 2+ years of experience to join their Sacramento office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to gain hands-on litigation experience and work closely with a collaborative team on a variety of civil litigation matters.

The ideal candidate will have experience with discovery, motion practice, depositions, court appearances, and overall case management. Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Trial preparation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a civil litigation defense caseload from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence
• Conduct legal research and prepare case evaluations and memoranda
• Take and defend depositions
• Attend court appearances, hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and courts
• Prepare cases for trial, including witness preparation and exhibit management
• Develop litigation strategy and evaluate liability and exposure

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active California Bar license and good standing required
• 2+ years of civil litigation defense experience preferred
• Experience with discovery, motion practice, depositions, and court appearances
• Trial preparation and trial experience are a plus
• Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently
