A growing food manufacturing company is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead a 2nd shift maintenance team within a high-volume production environment. This role is ideal for a strong leader who can balance technical expertise with team development and operational efficiency.
This position plays a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise and support a team of maintenance technicians
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical equipment issues
• Oversee preventative maintenance scheduling and execution
• Ensure production and support equipment operate efficiently
• Manage spare parts inventory and provide procurement recommendations
• Support hiring efforts and workforce planning in collaboration with HR
• Promote and enforce safety standards and regulatory compliance
• Communicate effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams
• Provide off-shift or weekend support as needed
Qualifications
• 5–7 years of maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing
• Food manufacturing experience preferred (frozen food a plus)
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and troubleshooting
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration and safety standards (OSHA/PSM preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
• Strong organizational and computer skills
• Proven leadership and team development abilities
• Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift 50–100 lbs with assistance
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
• Comfortable working in a loud, industrial environment
• Ability to work on feet for 6–8 hour increments
