We’re partnered with a respected Cleveland-based commercial builder on a confidential search for a Project Accountant to support a newly awarded $75M ground-up multifamily project.
This is a dedicated, full-cycle accounting role tied exclusively to ground-up construction with potential for broader project involvement once the job is underway. You will be working directly with executive leadership, and eventually help further develop the entire ground-up division in the company!
Focused solely on ground-up work
Longstanding client relationship with more work likely if this project succeeds
Highly involved leadership support and mentorship early on
Light travel to Columbus (approx. 5x/month, no overnights required)
Room for growth after initial onboarding
Handle all billing to the owner—accuracy and timing are critical
Process, approve, and track incoming sub invoices
Partner with PMs and Supers to align jobsite activity with billing
Manage project cost tracking, WIP reporting, and documentation
Be an accounting voice in internal meetings and with field leadership
Support project controls to ensure accurate flow of job cost data
Must have experience with ground-up commercial or multifamily construction
Confident, self-motivated, and able to hold your own in fast-paced team meetings
Detail-oriented, highly organized, and strong on accountability
10–15+ years of accounting or project-specific construction finance experience preferred
Someone ready to take ownership and grow with the team
$80K–$100K+ base, depending on experience
