Job Description

Our client, an established heavy civil contractor in the Indianapolis area, is looking for an Estimator to bid heavy highway and bridge work. You will build accurate, competitive estimates for roadway, bridge and asphalt paving projects and work closely with operations to win the right work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and bids for heavy highway, bridge and asphalt paving projects
• Perform quantity takeoffs from plans and specifications
• Build estimates and bid packages in HCSS HeavyBid
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
• Develop crew, equipment and production assumptions with the operations team
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits
• Hand off awarded projects to project management with a clear budget

Qualifications

• 5+ years of heavy civil construction experience
• Experience estimating or building bridge projects
• Asphalt and paving experience
• HCSS HeavyBid experience
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field preferred
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple bids at once
