Estimator / Operations Manager – Drywall & Construction

About the Opportunity
A growing construction contractor specializing in high-end custom residential projects, with an expanding presence in commercial and multifamily construction. Company is looking for an experienced Estimator / Operations Manager to play a key role in its continued growth.
This is an opportunity for someone who understands construction estimating, subcontractor coordination, and day-to-day operations and wants to make a direct impact on how a company operates. Working closely with ownership, you will take the lead on estimating responsibilities while helping improve processes, coordinate projects, and support the company's expansion into new markets.
The ideal candidate is comfortable in a smaller, hands-on environment where initiative, problem-solving, and the ability to wear multiple hats are valued.
Key Responsibilities
Lead estimating and bid preparation for residential, commercial, and multifamily construction projects, with a focus on drywall and interior construction.
Review construction plans, specifications, scopes of work, and project requirements to develop accurate, competitive estimates.
Solicit, review, and coordinate subcontractor bids, pricing, and proposals.
Evaluate labor, material, and subcontractor costs to help maintain project budgets and profitability.
Work directly with ownership to coordinate daily operations, project priorities, and business needs.
Assist with project planning, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and workflow management.
Communicate with subcontractor crews, suppliers, and internal team members to help keep projects moving efficiently.
Identify opportunities to improve estimating procedures, operational processes, and overall efficiency.
Support continued growth in commercial and multifamily construction while maintaining the company's reputation for quality custom work.
Qualifications
Construction estimating experience, preferably involving drywall, interior systems, or related subcontracting work.
Understanding of construction plans, specifications, takeoffs, labor costs, and subcontractor pricing.
Experience with residential custom construction, commercial construction, or both.
Commercial and/or multifamily project experience is highly desirable.
Knowledge of construction operations, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and make practical decisions.
Comfortable working directly with company ownership in a small, growing business.
