MRF General Manager in Santa Barbara

Job Description

A major waste & recycling facility is looking for a General Manager to take charge of operations, logistics, and compliance at a high-volume 300,000+ TPY facility. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to drive efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Oversee day-to-day MRF operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance.
• Manage logistics, material processing, and commodity sales.
• Lead a team, handling hiring, training, and performance management.
• Develop and control budgets, track KPIs, and optimize workflows.
• Partner with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability.
• Drive safety culture—conduct audits, enforce EH&S protocols, and lead safety meetings.

What You Bring:

✔ 10+ years of leadership experience in waste, recycling, or related industries.
✔ Strong understanding of MRF operations, logistics, and compliance.
✔ Background in mechanical or electrical systems is a plus.
✔ Ability to manage budgets, personnel, and facility performance.
