A well-established and highly regarded law firm in Abbotsford, BC is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigator to join its growing team. This firm offers a collaborative environment, strong mentorship, and a reputation for delivering high-quality legal services across a diverse client base.

The Opportunity This role is ideal for a motivated litigator with 5+ years of experience who is looking to take ownership of a varied and sophisticated practice. The successful candidate will work on a broad range of commercial litigation matters with a particular emphasis on construction-related disputes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of commercial and construction litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy
• Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings
• Advise clients on construction law matters, including contract disputes, payment issues, and defect claims
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver efficient and effective client service

Qualifications

• J.D. (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
• Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia
• 5+ years of litigation experience, ideally with exposure to construction law
• Strong advocacy, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Demonstrated track record of successful client outcomes

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $140,000 – $160,000, commensurate with experience
