Job Description

Position: Land Use Attorney

Location: San Francisco, CA

Postition Overview: A well-regarded law firm in San Francisco is seeking a Land Use Attorney with 2–12 years of experience to join its growing practice. This is a great opportunity to work on high-profile development projects across the Bay Area, advising sophisticated clients through all phases of the land use and entitlement process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on land use, zoning, and environmental matters (including CEQA)
  • Manage entitlement processes, including permits, variances, and development approvals
  • Represent clients before local planning commissions, city councils, and regulatory agencies
  • Draft and negotiate development agreements and related documents
  • Conduct due diligence for real estate transactions involving land use considerations
  • Collaborate with developers, consultants, and government stakeholders on complex projects

Qualifications:

  • 2–12 years of experience in land use, zoning, environmental, or real estate law
  • Experience with CEQA and California land use regulations strongly preferred
  • Strong writing, research, and communication skills
  • Experience appearing before public agencies is a plus
  • California Bar admission required
