Job Description

This permanent full-time Business Development Manager opening is with an AISC-certified Michigan steel erector that takes on large Midwest projects of 5,000+ tons. Expect $100,000-$200,000 per annum plus bonus incentives and travel throughout the Midwest.

Day to day

• Serve as the face of an AISC-certified Michigan erector with clients and at industry functions
• Find and develop new steel erection opportunities with owners and general contractors across the Midwest
• Lead pursuits on structural steel packages for projects of 5,000+ tons
• Keep tabs on bid schedules, competitors, and upcoming Midwest projects
• Travel the Midwest to build client relationships and move pursuits toward award

What it takes

• Clear, confident communication and proven follow-through on opportunities
• Willingness to travel throughout the Midwest
• Comfort pursuing and landing Midwest projects of significant tonnage
• An established network with general contractors, fabricators, or owners (preferred)
• Background selling or developing business in steel erection, structural steel, or heavy construction
