Job Description

A growing equipment company is hiring an Environmental Equipment Technician to service, repair and maintain refuse and recycling equipment, including garbage trucks, roll-off hoists, compactors and balers. You'd work in the shop and in the field, keeping customer equipment running safely and reliably.

What you'll do

• Diagnose and repair the hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic and diesel systems on garbage trucks, roll-off hoists, compactors and balers.
• Do preventive maintenance, inspections and service to manufacturer specs.
• Troubleshoot equipment on-site and in the shop, and find the root cause of failures.
• Install, set up and test new compactors, balers and truck bodies before delivery, and walk customers through how to operate them.
• Keep accurate service records, work orders and parts requests.
• Follow all safety and environmental rules on every job.

What you bring

• 2+ years of hands-on experience as a mechanic or technician on heavy equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with hydraulics, electrical systems and diesel engines.
• Comfortable with diagnostic tools, schematics and service manuals.
• A valid driver's license. A CDL, welding skills or OEM training is a plus.
• A self-starter who can work on their own and communicate well with customers.
