Associate Attorney – Civil Litigation (Defense) – San Diego, CA
A well-established San Diego law firm is seeking a Civil Litigation Associate Attorney to join its healthcare litigation practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a newer associate to step into an active caseload and gain meaningful, hands-on litigation experience in a collaborative environment with strong mentorship and long-term growth potential.The role offers direct exposure to all phases of litigation and increasing responsibility as matters progress.
Responsibilities
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery
- Handle depositions, mediations, and court appearances
- Conduct legal research and assist in developing case strategy
- Support fact discovery and e-discovery/ESI management
- Communicate with clients, partners, and opposing counsel
- Assist in managing cases through all stages of litigation
Qualifications
- Active California Bar license in good standing
- 1–4 years of civil litigation experience defense experience preferred, healthcare experience a plus
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented and team-focused mindset
