Assistant Project Manager – Mechanical Construction (HVAC/Plumbing)

Position Overview: The Assistant Project Manager (APM) plays a critical role in supporting the successful execution of HVAC, piping, and plumbing construction projects. This position partners closely with Project Managers, field teams, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing mechanical construction projects including HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems
• Support project scheduling, budgeting, and cost control efforts
• Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, fabrication, field crews) and subcontractors
• Track project progress, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
• Maintain clear communication with clients, vendors, and stakeholders
• Assist with procurement of materials and equipment
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, contract documents, and project specifications
• Contribute to continuous improvement, value engineering, and project efficiency initiatives

Qualifications:

• 1–5+ years of experience in construction project coordination or project management (mechanical/HVAC preferred)
• Understanding of HVAC systems, piping, or commercial construction processes
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with project management software and construction documentation
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
