Labor & Employment Defense Attorney Position Overview: We are looking for a talented Labor & Employment Defense Attorney with 5+ years of experience to join our litigation team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background representing employers in employment disputes and litigation, with experience handling matters from inception through resolution. This attorney will have the opportunity to take on sophisticated employment matters, advise clients, and work alongside experienced attorneys in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage labor and employment litigation matters from inception through resolution.
  • Represent employers in wage and hour, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and PAGA matters.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other necessary filings.
  • Conduct and defend depositions and participate in mediations, settlement negotiations, hearings, and trial.
  • Provide day-to-day employment counseling and strategic advice to employer clients.
  • Develop case strategies and provide practical legal advice on complex employment issues.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis regarding employment laws, regulations, and case law.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties.
  • Stay updated on changes in federal and California employment laws to provide optimal client service.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Labor & Employment litigation experience.
  • Experience representing employers in employment disputes required.
  • Experience with wage & hour, PAGA, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination matters preferred.
  • Strong research, writing, litigation, and communication skills.
  • Experience with depositions, discovery, motion practice, and mediation.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters independently and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and strategic thinking.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active licensed with CA Bar.
