Our client is seeking an Equipment Operator to support steel processing and lifting operations safely and productively.
STEEL INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED: candidates must have equipment operation experience in a structural steel or metals fabrication or erection environment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Operate assigned equipment (saws, shears, cranes, or similar) safely
- Process or move material to drawings, cut lists, or lift plans
- Perform pre-use equipment inspections
- Follow safety and quality procedures
- Meet production and project goals
Position Essential Job Functions:
- Read cut lists, drawings, or lift plans
- Set up and run equipment
- Measure and inspect parts or verify loads and rigging
- Communicate with crews, riggers, and signal persons
- Report equipment issues and keep logs
Position Skills:
- Required: Experience in the structural steel or metals fabrication/erection industry
- 1+ years of equipment operation in fabrication, manufacturing, or construction
- NCCCO certification required for crane roles
- Ability to read drawings, tape measures, or load charts
- Forklift and overhead crane experience a plus
- Strong safety awareness and reliable attendance
