Job Description

Are you ready to take control of your career? gpac, a recruitment company with 30+ years of experience, is partnered with a well-established company in the HVAC Controls / Building Automation space and is looking for a skilled Controls Technician.

 

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, troubleshooting, and solving complex system issues. In this role, you’ll diagnose and repair equipment problems, interpret electrical diagrams/schematics, and support the maintenance and performance of HVAC/R and associated electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC controls and related equipment issues
  • Work with AC/DC electrical systems
  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams/schematics
  • Maintain HVAC/R systems and associated electrical components
  • Assist with programming/configuration (any language a plus—e.g., Visual Basic, iFix, SQL)

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Plan, select, test, install, and maintain equipment and system components
  • Communicate technical information clearly to customers and internal teams
  • Develop practical solutions to complex problems
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Building Automation Systems (BAS), especially Niagara/Tridium
  • AutoCAD or similar CAD software experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand tools
