Assistant Feed Supervisor Description:
A leading feedlot operation in Texas that is dedicated to high-quality cattle care and efficient feed management is looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Feed Supervisor to join a growing team. The Assistant Feed Supervisor will be a key member of the Feed Department, assisting in the preparation of cattle feed rations, ensuring efficient bunk reading, and supporting feed truck operations. This individual will work closely with the Cattle Department Manager to ensure optimal animal health and performance from a feed perspective.
Assistant Feed Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Feed Ration Preparation: Mix and monitor feed rations to ensure consistency and quality, meeting the nutritional needs of the cattle.
- Bunk Reading: Conduct regular bunk readings to assess cattle feed consumption and make adjustments as necessary.
- Feed Truck Oversight: Oversee the operation of feed trucks, ensuring that feed is delivered accurately and on schedule.
- Maintenance Support: Assist in the repair and maintenance of feed trucks to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
- Data Entry: Accurately record and track feed-related data, ensuring timely and correct reporting for management review.
- Collaboration with Cattle Department: Work alongside the Cattle Department Manager to monitor and regulate animal health, ensuring the nutritional aspect of cattle care is optimized.
- Operational Support: Help with day-to-day operations of the feed department, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company protocols.
Assistant Feed Supervisor Requirements:
- Experience: Well-rounded experience in feedlot operations, including cattle feeding, bunk reading, and feed ration preparation.
- Animal Health Knowledge: Solid understanding of animal health and its relationship to feed and nutrition.
- Technical Skills: Experience with feed mixing equipment and feed truck operation. Ability to troubleshoot and assist in repairs.
- Data Management: Comfortable with data entry and tracking feed-related metrics.
- Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with the Cattle Department and other team members.
