📍 Pittsburgh, PA | Field + Office Mix
A growing commercial/industrial contractor is looking to add a Surveyor / Layout Technician to support structural foundation layout on active projects.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being in the field running layout but also has the ability to support the team on the office/technical side when needed.
🔹 Perform high-accuracy construction layout using a Trimble robotic total station
🔹 Layout building lines, grids, foundations, anchor bolts, embeds, elevations, and control points
🔹 Verify dimensions, perform as-builts, and ensure quality control across projects
🔹 Coordinate with Superintendents and field teams to keep jobs moving efficiently
🔹 Assist with .DWG files, layout prep, and point generation in the office
🔹 Support estimating and project teams with takeoffs, coordination, and constructability input
✔ Experience with construction layout for commercial/industrial projects
✔ Proficiency using a Trimble robotic total station
✔ Ability to read and interpret civil/structural drawings and plans
✔ Working knowledge of AutoCAD / .DWG workflows
✔ Strong attention to detail and accuracy (this role is critical to project success)
✔ Willingness to work both in the field and in the office as needed
✔ Mix of field + office work (not stuck doing just one)
✔ Work on commercial and industrial projects
✔ Be a key player in ensuring projects are built accurately from the ground up
✔ Strong team environment with clear communication and support
