COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT – WAREHOUSE & LIGHT INDUSTRIAL
A well-established General Contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee warehouse, light industrial, and commercial construction projects in the Chicago area. The ideal candidate has a strong background managing field operations, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, and delivering quality projects safely and efficiently.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee daily field operations for warehouse, light industrial, and commercial construction projects
Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel to maintain productivity and quality
Coordinate project schedules, site logistics, material deliveries, and inspections
Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, building codes, and safety requirements
Monitor project progress and proactively resolve field issues and scheduling conflicts
Conduct site meetings, maintain daily reports, and communicate progress with Project Managers
Coordinate with architects, engineers, owners, and other project stakeholders
Enforce jobsite safety standards and maintain a clean, organized construction site
Assist with punch lists, inspections, and project closeout
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction
Experience with warehouse, distribution center, tilt-wall, or light industrial projects strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with construction management software and project documentation tools
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality, schedule, and safety standards
OSHA 30 certification preferred
