A leading union-affiliated mechanical contractor is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support HVAC and plumbing design efforts across a wide range of commercial and institutional projects. With a strong reputation for high-quality, in-house design and seamless collaboration with construction teams, this firm offers long-term stability and opportunities for growth.
This role is ideal for candidates with a mechanical engineering background and 2+ years of experience in HVAC or plumbing system design.
Support design and drafting of mechanical and plumbing systems from concept through construction
Assist with preparation of construction documents, submittals, and coordination drawings
Collaborate with project managers, drafters, and field personnel for constructability and accuracy
Work within AutoCAD and Revit for design and modeling
Participate in cross-discipline coordination efforts
Conduct site surveys and support field-related technical questions
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
2+ years of experience in mechanical or plumbing design for commercial buildings
E.I.T. certification required; P.E. preferred
Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD
Familiarity with union labor and design-build environments is a plus
Willing to relocate if the opportunity is a strong fit
