Job Description

gpac is seeking a Safety Coordinator to ensure a safe, compliant, and engaging work environment across our facilities. This is for a food manufacturing company that's been proudly producing quality food products for decades. 

Position Summary: The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations while fostering a proactive “safety-first” culture across their Kentucky/Indiana facilities.  This is a hands-on role that requires regular time on the manufacturing floor. Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies and procedures.

  • Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments.

  • Lead investigations of incidents and follow through on corrective actions.

  • Deliver bilingual safety training (e.g., new hire orientation, forklift safety, PPE).

  • Serve as the main point of contact for safety-related concerns among employees and supervisors.

  • Maintain accurate safety records, including OSHA logs, training documentation, and inspections.

  • Coordinate emergency response procedures and safety drills.

  • Support workers’ compensation reporting and return-to-work efforts.

  • Champion a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) – written and verbal preferred.

  • 2+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

  • Solid knowledge of OSHA regulations and general industry standards.

  • Ability to travel between KY and IN facilities.

  • Strong communication and training skills.

  • OSHA 30-hour certification (General Industry) preferred.

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred.
