Job Description

Plaintiff Personal Injury Attorney | New Jersey (Hasbrouck Heights)

*Confidential application process*

Our client, a highly respected and fast-growing New Jersey personal injury firm, is seeking a driven Plaintiff Personal Injury Attorney to join their litigation team. This is an opportunity for a strategic advocate who thrives on securing justice for clients and is looking for a firm that rewards high performance with a transparent and lucrative bonus structure.

The Opportunity

You will manage a diverse caseload of personal injury matters—from initial intake through settlement or verdict. This role is designed for a "closer" who understands how to build maximum value in a file and isn't afraid to take a case to a jury if the insurance carriers aren't being reasonable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery.
  • Conduct and defend depositions (parties, experts, and witnesses).
  • Appear in Superior Court for arguments, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Lead or second-chair trials to verdict.
  • Maintain consistent, empathetic communication with clients to guide them through the legal process.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3–10+ years of personal injury litigation experience (Plaintiff side preferred, but strong defense candidates looking to switch are encouraged to apply).
  • Licensure: Active member in good standing with the New Jersey State Bar.
  • Skills: Exceptional negotiation tactics, strong legal writing, and a "think on your feet" courtroom presence.
  • Bonus Points: Experience with New Jersey’s verbal threshold and Tort Claims Act.

Compensation & Culture

  • Base Salary: Highly competitive and commensurate with your years of practice and proven track record.
  • Bonus Structure: Tiered and transparent, directly tied to individual settlements, fee generation, and performance milestones.
  • Benefits: Comprehensive package including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) options.
  • Environment: A collaborative, high-energy office culture that provides the resources of a large firm with the agility of a boutique practice.
