Concrete Project Manager – Commercial Construction
A well-regarded concrete contractor in the region, known for its awards and financial strength, is hiring a Project Manager to help lead its next phase of growth.
You will take ownership of results on commercial and light industrial projects, leading the project team with clear direction, open communication and high expectations, always with the customer in focus.
The role suits someone driven and dependable who can work closely with the executive team to support the company's growth and strategic goals.
What you will do:
- Run project schedules and keep progress updates current.
- Prepare and verify monthly cost projections that forecast total estimated costs at completion.
- Process submittals, RFIs, change order proposals, owner billings, time sheet management, subcontractor and vendor billings and monthly reports.
- Work with Estimating during the preconstruction phase.
- Read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Oversee subcontractors and vendors, including buyout, scope of work review, contract writing, and insurance and bonding reviews.
- Build long-term relationships with owners, architects, engineers and subcontractors to find and win future opportunities.
- Research and recommend solutions to drawing interpretation problems, conflicts and errors.
- Coach less experienced project management staff on the daily duties of managing a construction project.
- Prepare timely owner billings by verifying work in place and the billings from subcontractors and suppliers.
What we are looking for:
- 5+ years managing commercial or light industrial projects.
- Strong financial management skills and the ability to run every aspect of a project independently from start to finish.
- Broad knowledge of building systems and construction methods.
- A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications or equivalent experience will also be considered.
