Job Title: Legal Brief Writer – Civil Litigation

Location: Hybrid in Los Angeles, Emeryville, or Remote within California

About the Opportunity
A leading national plaintiff-side law firm is seeking a skilled Legal Brief Writer to join its dynamic litigation team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for attorneys with civil litigation experience to focus on legal research and writing in complex class action and multidistrict litigation (MDL) matters. The firm is committed to providing training in specialized areas, making this an ideal position for those looking to expand their expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft persuasive legal briefs, motions, and memoranda for class action and MDL cases

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research on complex civil litigation issues

  • Collaborate with attorneys to develop case strategies and legal arguments

  • Review and analyze discovery materials, depositions, and expert reports

  • Ensure all written work complies with court rules and procedures

  • Participate in team discussions and contribute to case development

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in civil litigation, with a strong focus on legal writing

  • Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments

  • Admission to California bar 

  • Experience with class actions or MDLs is a plus, but not required
